I wrote this poem for a friend who at the time was waiting for an experience similar to that of Paul of Tarsus, or should that be Saul. My friend never got that sort of experience but He did 'see the light' eventually and accepted that Jesus died for him. Friends are special, but those who lay down their life for you are even more so.

Acts 9:3-9 and John 15:13

Light Is For Seeing
-
186,000 miles per second's pretty fast.
That's the speed of light so we are told.
So can we speed it up or slow it down?
By treating it with heat, or by treating it with cold.
-
Without light it's impossible to see.
Now there's a fact that no one can deny.
Because even infra red's a part of light,
So seeing depends upon the ability of the eye.
-
Sometimes we need a little help to see,
With lenses crystal clear and specially made.
Even then we may not recognise the shape,
If it's standing far away, or it's standing in the shade.
-
But if we approach close enough,
Yes close enough to see.
And use our other senses,
In perfect harmony.
-
Then we can remember what it is,
Even if we do not fully understand,,
Why we cannot hide light,
Why we cannot grasp light,
And hold it in our hand.
-
By it's very nature,
Light will shine right through.
But only if you let it,
It's really up to you.
