This poem comes from the thought that God leaves the decision up to you. It's your choice whether to follow Jesus or not. He knocks on the door of your heart until you decide to open up to Him, and then He comes in and has dinner with you. He even brings His own food. In fact He is the food.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20

It's up to you
-
It's up to you, what you do.
Cling to the old, or cling to the new.
Cling to the past, live life fast.
Never see what you can be.
Its up to you, what you do.
-
Live for yourself, your praises sing,
Selfishness in everything.
Crown yourself, or bow to the King.
Run away, or shelter under His Wing.
It's up to you, that's the scary thing.
-
Seek to do right, live in the light.
Sing praise to the Lord, you'll never be bored.
Follow His way, your Night will be Day.
Give Him your all, He'll see you don't fall.
It's up to you that's the scary thing.
-
Only He can do a new work in you.
Take your heart and make it new.
He'll develop your potential, so it's essential.
to surrender to Him, His praises sing.
It's up to you, that's the scary thing.
