Sometimes customers would come into the shop for a chat. This poem springs from such an occasion when a chap came in and warned me about 'dodgey money'. It went something like this.

Counterfeit Brass

There's some dodgey money going about,
So you'd better keep your eye open lad.
Twenties,.tens, fivers and now pound coins,
It's really getting bad.

They'll copy owt nowadays,
And they say crime never pays.
Aye, they'll copy owt,
Except what the good book says.
