This poem is dedicated to my sister in Jesus, Laura who loves Squirrels.

The Squirrel
-
I saw a Squirrel the other day,
but when it saw me it ran away.
I could have taught it a brilliant trick,
if it hadn't run away so quick.
-
I could have educated it,
Encouraged by its favourite tit bit.
No longer toiling it would be,
Simply doing tricks for me.

And if it had a family too,
That would be cool, I'm telling you.
The whole lot would be my joy,
But no one else would share my toy.
-
Securely locked away with me,
other Squirrels they need not see.
Oh wouldn't it have been great fun.
if the Squirrel had not run.
