This poem is dedicated to my brother in Christ, Mick who was talking about his fishing escapades and it set me thinking. This poem was born.
Lazy, Hazy, Summertime
-
Lazy hazy Summer time,
Sitting by the River.
Fishes darting to and fro
Like a silvery sliver
-
Insects buzzing busily,
Make a soothing. noise.
Water lapping wetly
As if to sing it's Joys.
-
Such an abundance of Creatures,
From Water snail to Bream,
Air so fresh and sleepy.
With the chance to dream
-
Sunlight sifting through the leaves.
Outlining each so brightly.
And oh, that gentle soothing breeze.
Rippling through so lightly.
-
Ab! what a place to be,
Fishing by the River.
And praising God The Almighty,
Of all things good the giver.
