Quiet Time

One morning in July 97, I woke to find my wife already up and busy downstairs, feeling lazy I decided to stay where I was. I reached for my Bible and study notes Every Day With Jesus only to find that I had left the notes down stairs.

So I thought I'd try the old, stick your finger in the pages and read from there trick, having first prayed of course. Now I know all about the chap who got the scripture 'and Judas went and hanged himself', not being satisfied with that of course, he tried again, only to get 'go do thou likewise'! No way would I subscribe to this sort of study normally nor do I recommend it to you, but......

Anyway I opened the bible and started to read. The first spot I put my finger on was Ezekiel 20:15. I read onwards until I got to verse 20. The words 'and you shall know that I am God' jumped out at me. 'I already know that you're God' I said, and hastily stuck my finger in another part.

I read Deuteronomy 29:2 until I got to verse 6, "and you shall know that I am God", same again. I said 'Lord you are my God and I worship you, you are my King and I bow to you, you are my Lord and I serve you. I know that you are my God'.

I tried again. Perhaps I would find something of use this time. Exodus 29 so again I read until I got to verse 46 Again the words "and you shall know that I am God", jumped out at me, (it doesn't actually say "and you shall know that I am God", in any of these verses but that's what I read)

What can I say?.

I closed the bible and went down for breakfast.
