As a foot fitter I had to learn all about the foot. This poem stems
from that.
..He will crush your head and you will strike His heel .Genesis 3:15
No Mean Feet
-
The human foot is very unique,
What makes this so? Well lets take a peek.
There's 26 bones grouped in threes,
Tarsus. Metatarsus and Philangees.
-
The Calcanaeum is at the back,
With Talus, Cuboid, Navicular and the Cuniform pack.
Metatarsals, well there's five o.k.
Specially arranged to walk this way.
-
At the front comes the Philangees,
Fourteen bones in all make these.
The Great toe has two, the others have three.
Why? Well its plain you see.
-
The Plantar arch is formed by sinews slung,
And supported by the way they are hung.
The whole structure supports the leg you know,
And will carry you wherever you go.
-
This array of bones so marvellously link.
With sinews and muscle, Praise worthy don't you think.
And don't forget blood, Artery and Vein,
Supplying vital nutrients again and again.
-
And of course those precious feet of Gods right hand.
Under whom Satan's head is crushed you understand.
Feet that were washed with fragrance and tears.
And dried with hair, young in years.
-
Feet that were cruelly pierced by the nail.
For everlasting life believers to avail.
Feet beneath which, everything Past. Present and Future Is,
Feet that should be bowed to and greeted with a kiss.
