I stood On the cliff overlooking the sea,
The Gulls were hovering on wings still, so free,
The tide was lapping on the beach far below,
And as I stood a breeze started to blow.
-
So warm, so gentle on my face began to play,
It seemed to smooth all my cares away.
And then as quickly began to die,
Could I catch it, no I'd be stupid to try.
-
So I waited there, and again it came,
Somehow different, but still the same.
Gently so gently caressing and soothing,
Blew through my hair ruffling and smoothing
-
And the scent of flowers to my nose did bring,
And the sound of the gulls on my ear did ring,.
And as I breathed I became aware,.
Of its sweetness and texture so rare.
-
And never again, this moment could I capture,
Such sensations of marvel and rapture.
Thank you Lord for creating all things,
To you with gratitude my heart just sings.
-
So whenever you feel a breeze on your face,
Caressing gently a warm embrace,
And should you find yourself standing there,
Then offer the moment to God in prayer.
